How to reach Central Java

Central Java is easily accessible from any part of Indonesia. From Jakarta and Denpasar, Bali, the country’s two chief international entrances, where airports can cater to all types of aircraft. The three domestic airport of central java are those at Semarang (Ahmad Yani Airport), Solo (Adi Soemarmo airport), which are connected with the nation network that serves all major cities in the country at least once a day. Semarang and Solo are linked to Bali by flight.

Traveling by land in Central Java may be by intercity buses, taxis and “colt” (these are small buses which can carry 10 passengers). The best way to get around is by city bus, mini bus, while short distances are commonly served by typical mini bus, “Becak” (paddle cap), “Dokar” (horse drawn vehicles) in the country or smaller towns.
