Central Java, Indonesia

Central Java is one of all provinces of Indonesia and of the Tourist Destination Areas in Indonesia, and Semarang is the capital city as well as the seat of the government, It stretches between 108o 30 o to 8 o 30 o South Latitude.

Covering an area of 34.503 square kilometer, Central Java is a region of great geographical variety. There are chalk hills, high and low lands, active volcanoes, shallow and deep coats, traditionally cultivated fields, forest, plantations, all mixed up and present interesting and marvelous views to those who travel this area.

Under the influence of two climates : The Rainy (wet) Season from October to April and the Dry (hot) season from April to October.

It has and average temperature of about 27o C throughout the year 20o C lowest and 35.7o C highest. It is always hot but due to mountain breezes and altitude, there is roughly one degree of cooling for every 90 m elevation.

Due to its fertile and, mountainous land almost all kinds of tropical plants grow well here. The varieties of plants grown on fields and plantations areas, hilltops and valleys along the roads from very attractive views for visitors.

The people of the provinces are mainly Javanese, that is, they belong to the larger of the two ethnic-cultural groups native to the island. The population however, is by no means entirely homogenous. Apart from the small group of European and Japanese residents there are many Indonesian living in Central Java who come from other parts of the country, and there are also about three quarters of a million people of Chinese origin. Finally small part of the population is of Indian or Arab descent. All these different peoples have their own customs, their own languages, have their food, as can be seen from shop signs reading “Gudeg Jogja”, “Sate Madura”, “Masakan Padang”, “Soto Kudus”, “Lumpia Semarang” , and so forth.

Javanese people are famaus for their friendliness, courtesy and hospitality, which are typical Javanese habits.

Ok…, I await your comment, thank’s
